Last night’s Gazette Cup third round
game was alas the Albion’s last in this competition, we
lost 4-0 to Youth Enfield. Not an entirely unexpected result,
they are third in the premier division after all. Still, we
gave a good account of ourselves and played with good spirit,
it also didn’t help when Matt went off injured early on
and some hasty reorganisation was required.

The Reds' better chances came in the second
half; debutant Joseph showed good pace up front and broke through
to hit the post, once he sorts out the offside law he’ll
prove quite a threat. James hit the same post soon after after
a nice passing move, and we managed to hold onto the ball a
bit. The back four played well together, after covering for
Matt Pete looks to be the next inheritor of the cursed fullback
position. |
| Man of the match is Mark who organised
well and covered a lot of ground in the process, while muppet
of the match has to be Joseph who until now reckoned that you
can’t be offside if the ball is played from your own half.
Really. And I’ve spoken to Matt, turns out that it’s
just as well he went to the hospital, he’s broken the middle
three metatarsals of his left foot, is wearing a full length cast
and will be out for a couple of months. |
