As you have probably gathered by now I am at best a reluctant journalist so here’s a short but sweet match report, maybe some pressure on absent reporter Mr. Marrs would reap dividends.

The Albion’s third round Invitation Cup game was against Westward Old Boys of the Premier League. So it might surprise you to learn that we were four goals ahead within the first twenty five minutes. I missed the first one, but injured fullback Matt told me that Joseph scored it from Paul F’s cross (made and finished in West London I hear you cry), and I take his word for it. Paul Connell got the next, Joseph coolly chipped the keeper for our third, and Paul C took the ball calmly round the latter for our fourth. At this point a small boy (presumably from Westward Young Boys) said “it’s a disgrace to the under elevens”.
The half time oranges were as succulent as ever, and it was decided that the Reds shouldn’t go to sleep in the second half.
Alas they did and Westward had a couple of goals within the first ten minutes. The Albion got one back from the penalty spot though, Big Jim Amoruso had to score twice from the spot as some idiot (Paul C) encroached during the initial effort. Then Westward got a couple more, not that debutant keeper Michael was to be blamed. But no worries, they couldn’t score another so we won 5-4. Our quarter final opposition will be decided on 16th February when Times ‘B’ play Isledon United of the third division. Come on Isledon I say.
Today's’s man of the match is Paul Connell, unlucky not to get a hat trick and worked hard as always. I know that at least one of his goals was captured for posterity on Monkeyhanger’s camera, it’ll be on the site as soon as.
Our team: Michael; Dom, Amoruso, Mark, Paul T; Paul F (MH Pete 55), Rich, Pete(c), Jim McT; Joseph, Paul C.
